“When I joined the Arter team in 2014, we transferred all existing data and documents to The Museum System (TMS) software specially designed for collection management. Thanks to this automation program, with which we can save almost all kinds of information and documents regarding the art works and create connections between them, we can monitor the relations of each work with artists, curators, institutions, exhibitions, events, publications and other works. We can manage the notes taken about them, their photographs, the condition controls and conservation stages. We can easily follow the transportation process and location changes in the warehouse and check insurance updates. As the collection team, we see as our duty, not only preserving a work at international standards and in the most appropriate conditions, but also contributing to art history by creating its memory.”

“From the time we started working together, we have always felt the support of SAYISAL GRAFİK regarding both our TMS works and their display on the eMuseum. They continue to provide valuable contributions to our work with their suggestions and guidance on every issue we face.”

“We have always encountered a good humoured, innovative and solution-oriented approach in our business relationship with SAYISAL GRAFİK, which has continued since 2015. As Sadberk Hanım Museum, we decided in 2015 to replace our database with a more up-to-date and advanced system, The Museum System (TMS). During the implementation of this new system, SAYISAL GRAFİK team, with both technical support and training to museum experts, helped us to get through this very difficult transition process as smoothly as possible. Thanks to the TMS database, we can check the inventory data of the museum collection much easier and faster, and we can continue our work much more effectively than before with advanced search and reporting options. In this way, we can effortlessly manage our collection of over 20,000 works.”

“Sadberk Hanım Museum, which wants to continue its existence in the digital environment as well and to give its visitors the opportunity of online access, aims to achieve this goal with the virtual museum (eMuseum) it has established with the support of SAYISAL GRAFİK. The virtual museum, which we have customized for the use of the exhibition design team for a while within the scope of the museum's relocation project, facilitates our work and saves time by allowing the museum and exhibition teams to cooperate on the same portal, rather than transferring collection data through different channels. With its wide filtering options, it allows the mapping of artifacts and helps the design team to work effectively. With its approach that produces punctual and rapid solutions throughout this whole process, SAYISAL GRAFİK team has always extended their help at any moment we need it.”

The Museum System (TMS) software, which we launched in 2017 with the help of SAYISAL GRAFİK, has become the most important tool for our collection management. The old inventory data and images transferred to TMS during the installation were enriched with the information we added later.”

SAYISAL GRAFİK team was always by our side with their support regarding this environment where we can see, query and report the connections between all the information belonging to works, artists, exhibitions, etc. through TMS automation.”

“Our work with SAYISAL GRAFİK started with the installation and training of The Museum System (TMS) software at the Istanbul Painting and Sculpture Museum in 2019. In this process, SAYISAL GRAFİK responded quickly to all our questions with its solution-oriented approach and supported us in every way. SAYISAL GRAFİK team developed creative ideas, specific to our Museum Collection and guided us through the integration process of the system. With their friendly approach and mastery of the subject matter, they made a difficult process easy and enjoyable. Thank you SAYISAL GRAFİK Team!”

“Today, access to information and the reliability of information sources are more important than ever before. Information access is still among the most important problems of humanity, not only in our country but also in different geographies of the world. Of course, there are also problems in accessing accurate and unbiased information. With the spread of the Internet, ‘information access’ supposed to be easy, cheap, and even free for some. However, despite developing communication technologies and devices, only 65% of the world's population has internet access (source: www.internetworldstats.com/stats.htm). In other words, one out of every 3 people in the world does not have internet access yet. At a time when access to information is still problematic, another important problem is the accuracy and reliability of information accessed from paid or open sources. Although electronic journals, electronic book databases and information portals that provide mostly paid academic content are generally considered reliable, it should not be ignored that the accuracy of the information obtained should be confirmed from different sources. Another important point is to use resources that approach the same subject from a different perspective and to give the subject an academic and cultural depth.”

“In Turkish academic libraries, mainly the products of companies that provide content originating from Europe and the USA are used in scientific research. In fact, the presence of platforms providing electronic content in our mother tongue, Turkish among academic collections is very low, but has only increased in the last few years. Under these conditions, it is inevitable to conduct scientific research on the basis of the works done in USA and Europe and to use the outputs obtained from this point of view. At this point, the necessity of accessing the platforms that are produced in different regions and that provide content in different languages besides English is felt in order to ensure academic diversity.”

Ertuğrul Çimen, MEF University

“One of such platforms is the product called CNKI Academic Focus, which is among the MEF Library databases. This product, which is visited by an average of 4 million people daily and which serves more than 20,000 institutional members from 53 countries around the world, is from China and provides access to 540 journals in English too, beside the content in Chinese. CNKI Academic Focus, presented to Turkey by SAYISAL GRAFİK, was among the most frequently referenced academic resources globally, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. This resource, which is also frequently referenced by MEF Library, takes its place in the collection as one of the most important parts of intellectual capital accumulation of MEF Library.”

“Finding a place for philosophy in secondary education and having all young people graduating from high school after taking courses such as philosophy and logic is a subject that is discussed at the beginning of each new academic year and when the results of the university entrance exams are announced but that is forgotten afterwards. However, according to one of our esteemed philosophy professors, Ioanna Kuçuradi, philosophical knowledge 'is not just a dry knowledge, but also a vivid knowledge and one that awakens/creates and nourishes the will of the educated people to live humanely. Only with this knowledge, societies give importance to ethical values, demand human rights or can be protected from unforeseen dangers of technological development.”

“When we approach philosophy and its importance with this point of view, the acquisition and use of online library resources in universities gains a special value. Continuing to be developed since 1966, the Philosophy Documentation Center supports the worldwide community of philosophy, with its collaborations with associations and publishers, and with the different products it offers.”

“As Koç University Library, on the way we set out with the aim of supporting research and education at our university, our preference for the last 5 years has been for the Philosophy Documentation Center database for our members, who have set their heart on philosophy. This product, which is appreciated for its easy use and quality content, also achieves a good usage rate.”

SAYISAL KİTAP Turkish e-Book virtual database is a complete library for me. It offers a wide range of quality content from publishers such as Türkiye İş Bankası, Akbank, Varlık and Yapı Kredi. There are more than 4,700 resources. Not to mention the fact that this number, without compromising on quality, increases day by day."

“Another advantage is that it can be used on tablets and mobile phones as well as on computers. In this respect, it is a tremendous resource that whets the appetite of bookworms. Its scope is extremely wide in terms of addressing university libraries/information centers, public libraries and school libraries.”

“Perhaps, for SAYISAL KİTAP, it is possible to consider a similar one to Bill Gates's motto at Microsoft. He has gone further than his goal 'a computer in every home'. Why not the same for SAYISAL KİTAP, or even more: not just for every home, but 'a SAYISAL KİTAP database for everyone!' ”

“Terakki Foundation Schools Libraries was the first school library in Turkey to subscribe to SAYISAL KİTAP database which includes quality Turkish e-books from distinguished publishers.”

"It filled an important gap and answered one of the most frequently asked questions by our students and teachers during library orientations, 'Is there a database of e-books in Turkish?'.”

“It is an important part of our library collection, with its resources that contribute to the academic and cultural development of our students and teachers and support lifelong learning processes.”

“The availability of the 'Citation' option for the resources in SAYISAL KİTAP Turkish e-book collection, which we have access 24 hours a day, also contributes to the development of our students as individuals who know and apply the principles of academic honesty.”

“Access to information is one of the fundamental human rights in the twenty-first century. The right to access information, just as the rights to justice, health, security and education, is one of the obligations of the social state towards the individual.”

“The basic information resources made available to students and teachers in functional school libraries are domestic and foreign books, encyclopedias, periodicals and other bibliographic materials. The use of classical information resources is valuable and functional within its domain and dynamics. However, in today's world where mobile and established communication tools are actively used by all segments of the society, it is imperative that digital information resources are first acquired by the public authority, then by private institutions, and made available to individuals under their area of responsibility”

“School libraries meet the needs of individuals to access information beyond their physical spaces by adding digital resources to the classical ones they offer to their users. Digital resources, whose content has been meticulously evaluated by field experts, are safe, scientific and user-friendly, to the extent that they contain the right pool of information. In today's effective libraries, there should at least be one database of fiction and non-fiction books in Turkish and foreign languages, a digital encyclopedia, a periodicals database, and an article database in line with user needs.”

Osman Koç, Adapazarı ENKA High School

“At our school, through a strict and thorough evaluation criteria, we have made available various electronic information resources to our stakeholders. To this end, we work with SAYISAL KİTAP to meet our need for Turkish books, due to its distinguished and up-to-date content, company representatives being field professionals and their ability to address any and all problems swiftly and to the point. SAYISAL KİTAP provides serious advantages to our library users with its convenient web interface, categorical filters, personalization opportunity, simple and useful citation options. SAYISAL KİTAP Turkish digital book database which we started using after meticulous evaluations, deeply affects the digital book culture in our country as well and constitutes a model for similar platforms.”

“On behalf of myself, my institution and my students, I would like to thank SAYISAL KİTAP for its distinguished craftsmanship of knowledge and valuable contributions to access to information.”

“School libraries are important centers of academic, social and cultural development, change and learning for our children to discover themselves and to determine their future goals during their education from kindergarten to university. As the media of information change, the existence of a well-equipped school library together with information services provided by qualified librarians has become ever more valuable for children to grow up to be a generation that researches, questions, produces new information with critical thinking skills and that seeks to learn all through life. Conscious parents searching for the right schools for their children impose upon us librarians great responsibility since they always question available resources and information services provided.”

“Being a member of the International Association of School Librarianship (IASL) and the Director of Middle East and North Africa Region since 2018, I have been closely following the richness of the types and contents of library collections, library training programs and the work of expert librarians in different countries. In the process of translating IFLA's School Library Guidelines, I have made it my sole professional goal to work towards raising awareness that fully effective school libraries are the right of all students in my country. The primary, secondary and high school sections of one of the oldest educational institutions of Turkey, the KOÇ School Libraries, work with this vision.”

“Whereas the goal of establishing a qualified library collection with the necessary space and technological infrastructure as well as accessibility for users can normally be achieved, a collection in the digital environment of resources in the mother language was always the greatest difficulty. Although the increase in the number of good quality books under children and young adult literature is pleasing, the scarcity of Turkish electronic publications, especially faced with the reality of the pandemic, is deeply felt. Supporting the rights of the school community to access information resources, stories, fairy tales, novels and poetry in their own language during the school and distance learning phases, has taken its place among the new world goals of school librarians and publishers.”

“Working with the SAYISAL KİTAP platform and being able to offer in our own language an invaluable collection by invaluable authors of child and young adult literature makes us feel proud and empowered at the KOÇ School Libraries. I believe, with the support of SAYISAL KİTAP team, their offering of wide range of good quality publications by selected good quality publishers and their very collaborative approach, we shall all be able to shape our future together.”
